Event Details

Presented by the African American Center at the San Francisco Public Library in collaboration with PLEJ for Liberation and Human Rights Pen Pals (HRPP), the Letters to Prisoners Workshop welcomes students, seniors, writers, artists, and anyone interested in using the craft of writing to make a difference in the life of a prisoner.

Participants will compose a hand-written letter to a prisoner/educator (plejucator) and learn more about the realities of imprisonment and solitary confinement. From there, they may elect to develop an on-going penpal relationship with a prisoner.
