Litquake and Union Square Live present readings and music celebrating our City by the Bay from Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Mark Twain, Amy Tan, Vikram Seth, Armistead Maupin, and more.
Read by actresses Anne Buelteman and Tina Marie Murray. Music by guitarist Dave Ricketts.
About the Actors
Anne Buelteman is a dramatic and voice-over actress who has worked with A. C. T., San Jose Civic Light Opera, California Conservatory Theatre, American Muscial Theater, TheatreWorks, and the San Francisco Opera. She wrote, produced, and starred in a one-woman show entitled Opera Without Fear at the Marines Memorial Theater and spent 11 years on the Broadway national tour of Les Miserables.
Tina Marie Murray is an actress and singer who has worked with Theater Artaud, Cultural Odyssey and Rhodessa Jones and the Medea Project, Magic Theater, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, George Coates Performance Works, San Jose Stage Company, and more. She is a graduate of the New College of California and taught music in Ivory Coast.
Litquake is an annual literary festival that returns to San Francisco from October 5-13, 2012. As a pre-celebration, several participating authors will take over Union Square for this special lunchtime Litquake event on August 15, 2012.
