Litquake’s Lines & Lyrics: Jewish Jamboree Edition | SoMa

Take a literary and lyrical lunch break as the Museum teams up with Litquake and Yerba Buena Gardens Festival for a free, outdoor hour of words and music from local Jewish poets, songwriters, and musicians, including Matthew Siegal, Melissa Stein, and Chana Bloch.

Matthew Siegel is a poet and essayist whose writing has appeared in Indiana Review, Mid-American Review, TheRumpus.net, and elsewhere. He teaches literature and writing at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is a Contributing Editor at The Offending Adam.

Melissa Stein is the author of Rough Honey, winner of the 2010 APR/Honickman First Book Prize. Her work has appeared in Southern Review, Harvard Review, New England Review, Best New Poets 2009, and many other journals and anthologies.

Chana Bloch is a poet, translator, and author of four award-winning poetry collections, including Mrs. Dumpty and Blood Honey. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, and Best American Poetry. Her many honors include the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation, two NEA fellowships, and two Pushcart Prizes.

Program takes place on Jessie Square in front of the Museum. Co-presented with Litquake and Yerba Buena Gardens Festival.
