Event Details

Live 105’s Megan Holiday hosts Mega Music Mixer, a free concert showcasing different local bands on Saturday, July 13, 2013.

The show starts at 8 pm upstairs at Neck of the Woods. 21+ only.

Featured bands include:

  • The Trophy Fire, a Bay Area three-piece, play heartfelt, hook-driven and powerful indie rock. Their lush string and keyboard pads, big guitars, and sultry harmonies conjure a span of comparisons from Jimmy Eat World to Tears for Fears. After the release of their first record “A Lifetime in the Middle of the Ocean,” and tours with influences and mentors Far and Dredg, they put out a new EP “Armor.”
  • Anya & The GetDown formed in June 2011 and have been rocking shows in the Bay Area ever since. Anya gets down on the vocals. Azim gets down on the bass. Matt gets down on guitar. Randy gets down on drums.
  • The Trims have a strong sound reminiscent of early Strokes and the brit pop of the ’90s, while also conjuring the swagger of artists like Joy Division. Blend that style with over-sexed lyrics about all things scandalous, and you have the identity that defines The Trims.
  • Vela Eyes rock the stage, with a patchwork of influences (Siouxie and the Banshees, Echo & the Bunnyman, Sonic Youth, Led Zeppelin, New Order and My Bloody Valentine), and by fusing elements of post punk, shoe gaze and psych rock, they produce an ethereal and aggressive soundscape.
  • neXus Rock
