In the intimate atmosphere of a house concert, experience jazz, contemporary, and classical music, and enjoy opportunities to converse with performers and each other.Offered in partnership with the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music.
Regarded as one of the fastest rising jazz singers in Northern California with a tradition-rooted yet thoroughly modern style, Tiffany Austin shares her Creole music project inspired by memories of her grandmother, and by recordings from the 1920s and 1930s by Louisiana accordionist Amede Ardoin, whose innovative style had a profound impact on the development of both Cajun and zydeco music. Since earning her Juris Doctorate in 2012 from U.C. Berkeley, Austin has devoted her life to her first love, leading her own projects as well as appearing with such artists as Marcus Shelby, Howard Wiley and John Handy.
