Lost & Out of Print Film Night | Berkeley

LOOP (Lost and Out of Print) is an all ages movie night of obscure films in 16mm and other film formats of all genres at The Tannery in Berkeley, CA.

They also host monthly VHS swaps where you bring your old cartoons, obscure television shows with taped commercials, OOP horror, Sci-Fi, and other novelty items for trade or sale.

Admission and parking are free, but donations are accepted. Doors are at 7 pm; screening is at 7:30 pm.

Calling All Girls (1942)

The first few minutes of this short show the process that studios use to select girls to be members of the chorus line in movie musicals. The following numbers from popular 1930s musicals are then presented: “Don’t Say Goodnight” from Wonder Bar (1934); “Lullaby of Broadway” from Gold Diggers of 1935 (1935) ; “Shadow Waltz” from Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933); and “By a Waterfall” and “Shanghai Lil” from Footlight Parade (1933).
