Join Vincent Medina and Louis Trevino, founders of Cafe Ohlone, in learning about Native Foodways Revitalization and Ohlone Cuisine. Mak-‘amham (mahk-am-haam) means our food in the Chochenyo Ohlone language. Vincent who is Chochenyo Ohlone and Louis who is Rumsen Ohlone bring together their cultural leadership in language revitalization, native foodways, and ancestral knowledge to reconnect with traditional foods.
Learn more about Ohlone food traditions and Native cultural resilience through a cooking demo and discussion with Cafe Ohlone. Support Mak-‘amham as they open a new location in Berkeley and learn more about what it means to be a guest on Ohlone lands. Zoom details will be emailed the morning of the virtual event.
‘ammamak! Let’s eat!
