“MAPP” SF’s Free Art, Poetry & Concert Crawl in The Mission
The Mission Arts Performance Project (MAPP) sprawls across more than a dozen venues as well as public spaces, secret gardens, street corners, BART stations, cafes, bars, taquerias, and homes all over La Mission typically starting in the afternoon and going until late
The event features taking common spaces, and for one chaotic evening, transforming them into event spaces for free live music, spoken word, performance art, film screenings, BBQs, garage sales, unorthodox conversations, and happenings.
The event is loosely “organized,” so although there is a schedule, our best advice is to just show up around 7 pm, wander around the Mission, and discover.

The 10th Anniversary of MAPP, the Mission Arts & Performance Project (MAPP) will be a special night of interdisciplinary arts happenings will take place in multiple venues across the Mission on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
This MAPP is dedicated to all the Indigenous peoples and nations of Las Americas, from Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego. MAPP stands in solidarity with all Native communities fighting for dignity, autonomy, justice and the continued celebration and struggle of their rich cultures and heritage.
Especially during this Thanksgiving season where revisionist history and a false mythology is everywhere in pop culture. They are acknowledging the true debt of gratitude we owe to indigenous peoples and ancient wisdom, rather than a celebration of colonization.
