Event Details

The Mill Valley Public Library presents Writing for Wellness: a panel discussion of local authors who write about personal growth. The panel features authors Rand Selig, Willow Older, Deborah Huber, and Merrill Page.

Rand Selig, an accomplished entrepreneur, coach, scoutmaster, board member, and roll-up-your-sleeves conservationist, shares his extensive expertise in Thriving!: How to Create a Healthier, Happier, and More Prosperous Life. With an MBA from Stanford and undergraduate degrees in mathematics and psychology, he excels at managing complex projects globally. He is relentlessly positive and believes he can design his own life and others can, too. Based in Mill Valley, California, he enjoys life’s adventures with his wife of 42 years. www.randselig.com

Willow Older and Deborah Huber are the founders of the Today I Noticed mindfulness practice and authors of Today I Noticed: A Little Book of Mindfulness that Will Change the Way You See the World. They also run Today I Noticed workshops for conferences, retreats, and corporations. Willow is a professional writer and editor, and Deborah has spent her career in creative and management roles in the tech industry. Long-time friends and Mill Valley residents, Deborah and Willow love hiking the trails of Marin County and imagining themselves swimming in the chilly SF Bay (but know they never will).

Merrill Page is a local author, speaker, somatic therapist, mother, and author of The Path of Medicine Woman: Fertility, Women’s Health and Rewilding. She describes herself as an insatiable student who traded in pre-med at Stanford for a degree in Literature and Latin American studies and graduated with a deep understanding of medicine as metaphor.  Ayurveda, yoga, Chinese Medicine, Qigong, plant medicine, energy medicine and food would become her fascination as she pieced together graduate work across the globe. She has been featured in publications ranging from Quest Magazine, Spirituality and Health, and interviewed by Emmy Award winning journalist Kara Sundlun on CBS morning news. Merrill lives in the Bay Area with her four sons and puppy.
