Join the First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto as they we celebrate the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 17, 2010.
The theme for this year’s celebration is Reflections on the Dream with music and reflections from Joan Baez. Joan Baez is a folk singer, songwriter, human rights and civil rights activist who marched with Dr. King
Also featuring:
- The Honorable LaDoris H. Cordell Master of Ceremonies
- the volunteer Community Interfaith Choir*
- Eastside College Preparatory School Choir from E. Palo Alto
- and Alex Freeman, a youth speaker from Palo Alto High School
First Church is one of the five community groups that has sponsored this annual celebration for over 16 years.
There will be a reception in Fellowship Hall after the service at 4:30 pm.
