My Sweet Girl follows Paloma Evans, adopted from a Sri Lankan orphanage and given the best of everything. Now at thirty years old, she sublets the spare bedroom in her San Francisco apartment to Arun, recently moved from India. Arun discovers Paloma’s darkest secret, but before she can pay him off, she finds him dead. By the time the police arrive, there’s no body—and no evidence that Arun ever even existed in the first place.
Amanda Jayatissa grew up in Sri Lanka, completed her undergrad at Mills College, CA, and lived in the UK before moving back to her sunny little island. She works as a corporate trainer, owns a chain of cookie stores, and is a proud dog-mum to her two spoiled huskies. My Sweet Girl is Amanda Jayatissa’s debut novel.
