Melissa Etheridge, stormed onto the scene in 1988 with her self-titled debut, followed by Grammy wins for hits like Bring Me Some Water and Ain’t It Heavy. Her 1993 album Yes I Am cemented her as a rock icon, with massive hits like I’m the Only One and Come to My Window. Etheridge won a second Grammy for Best Female Rock Performance, and her 1995 album Your Little Secret spawned the hit I Want to Come Over.

She won an Academy Award in 2007 for I Need to Wake Up, written for An Inconvenient Truth, and has continued to inspire with music, activism, and personal triumphs, including surviving breast cancer. Her 2016 album Memphis Rock & Soul and 2019’s The Medicine Show further showcased her evolving sound. In 2020, she launched The Etheridge Foundation for opioid use disorder research, and her 2021 album One Way Out offered fans a peek into her early songwriting. A Broadway show, My Window, premiered in 2022, while 2024 brought the I’m Not Broken docuseries and live album.

Indigo Girls, Emily Saliers and Amy Ray, have been a defining voice for queer artists since 1988. Their self-titled debut sold over 2 million copies, powered by Closer to Fine and Kid Fears. They’ve earned six Gold/Platinum-certified albums, with their latest, Look Long, marking their enduring legacy. Their activism covers racial justice, LGBTQ rights, reproductive rights, and more. The duo’s It’s Only Life After All documentary, released in 2024, explores their 40-year career, and their music continues to unite audiences through rousing live performances.

Both Melissa Etheridge and Indigo Girls have shaped not only music but social change, using their platform to empower and inspire.
