Enter to win a pair of tickets to see the soulful British singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka and Grammy-winning frontwoman and solo artist Brittany Howard as they share the stage live at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre.
Michael Kiwanuka, a British-Ugandan singer-songwriter, released his critically acclaimed debut album “Home Again” in April 2012, showcasing his soulful and genre-defying talent. His second album, “Love & Hate,” produced by Inflo and Danger Mouse, marked a confident and emotionally dense progression, featuring standout tracks like “Black Man in a White World” and “Cold Little Heart.” This album further solidified his place among great British musicians and highlighted his growth in addressing themes of race, identity, and vulnerability.
Brittany Howard, the frontwoman of four-time Grammy Award-winning band Alabama Shakes, released her second solo album “What Now,” following her critically acclaimed debut “Jaime” from 2019. With five Grammy wins and sixteen nominations, Howard’s new album draws from a diverse range of genres, including psychedelia, dance music, dream-pop, and avant-jazz. Recorded at Nashville’s Sound Emporium and RCA Studio B, “What Now” was co-produced with Shawn Everett and showcases Howard’s unrestrained creativity and emotional depth.
