Los Altos History Museum will host a Mid-Autumn Festival on Sunday, October 5, from 1–5pm, celebrating one of China’s most important holidays with mooncakes, lantern crafts, games, and live performances.
Presented with the Greater Los Altos Chinese Association (GLACA), the festival offers activities for all ages: face painting, bean bag toss, arrow throwing, lantern-making, and candy painting—plus a new 3D sugar art printer to enhance this traditional craft. Local performers will perform, and festival foods will be available.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, observed for more than 3,000 years, is rooted in harvest traditions and the legend of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess. Today it symbolizes family reunion, gratitude, and hope for health and happiness.
Admission: $10; free for Museum members, children 12 and under, and seniors over 65. Pay at the gate.
