Spend Independence Day in Mill Valley at their annual 4th of July Parade & Picnic on July 4, 2019.
The day starts at Volunteer Park (the corner of Evergreen and Melrose) where everyone gathers for the beginning of a community parade to Stolte Grove. Led by a bright red fire truck, the meandering array of kids on bicycles, tricycles, scooters, strollers, dogs, and goats, all decked out in red, white and blue, the joyful parade gets underway.
2019 4th of July Parade & Picnic
An Annual Homestead Valley Celebration
After a leisurely stroll to Stolte Grove, the parade is greeted by a group of friendly volunteers that have been preparing a wonderful all-American barbeque picnic with hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, soda, chips, and, of course, apple pie (and other savory deserts). The food is most likely for purchase, so bring along cash.
After a brief respite for nourishment and rest, there is always some fun entertainment for the kids. It may be a magician or an amazing animal show. And don’t forget the piñata. Just in case the kids haven’t had enough sugar, there is one more opportunity when someone successfully breaks the piñata.
Please note that the time posted in the details was from last year. Most likely it will be the same this year.
