Step outside the box and unleash your most fantastical imagination through mime! Get ready for a mental and physical workout in this theatrical performance exploration by director and mime artist Jamin Jollo. Students will learn and expound upon the building blocks of ancient technique derived from masters like Etienne Decroux, Jacques Copeau, and Marcel Marceau, as well as utilize Swiss mime practices to harness the energy of the world around oneself into profound silent performance.
Bring comfortable movement clothes and prepare to sweat, laugh, cry, and fill your creative cup with the ultimate form of metaphysical theatre, using a series of theatrical storytelling games to develop powerful displays of raw corporeal poetry.
Jamin Jollo is an actor, mime, puppeteer, and builder hailing from Oregon. Holding a BFA in Acting from SOU, he’s melded teachings from master mime James Donlon, mask maker James Jessie Peck (Nutshell Masks), and artists from Dell’Arte International to craft performances and characters across the Bay Area. Jamin hones a practice of Mime, Shakespearean acting, and comedy burlesque while directing students of all ages in various theatrical media.
