Event Details

The Mission Seven is on a mission to return dance music to it’s fun roots with a mixture of Latin Soul, Boogaloo, Cumbia, hard driving beats, and a retro garage edge. Taking a human approach with real drums and percussion, a soulful horn section, and vintage guitar and bass, our sound is sophisticated without being stuffy, and very dance floor friendly.

The band hails from San Francisco’s Mission district, our name taken from Sax playing leader Connie’s grandma’s phone number, which back in the day was MI7-5444, MI being the Mission district prefix.

On Sunday June 28th they are playing their virgin gig, launching at POP’S Bar, 2800 24th st on the corner of York (as they are after all The Mission Seven, a decidedly Mission band). It’s an early show (3-7 pm) admission is free, and DJ VDOG is opening the show, spinning classic Soul (Latin and otherwise).

You can find out more about the band at http://themissionseven.com.
Listen to their new EP at http://themissionseven.bandcamp.com/album/eastsiders.
