Mission District “Calle 24” Latino Art Stroll & Mural Tour | SF

Calle 24 hosts an all-day Paseo Artistico / Art Stroll, a joint effort between several noted Calle 24 arts organizations, Paseo Artistico will bring music, poetry, book readings film and cultural tours to the 24th Street corridor every second Saturday.

“Calle 24” spans 14 city blocks, the section of 24th Street bounded by Valencia Street to the west and Potrero Avenue to the east and has served as the center of Latino activism, arts, commerce, and culture in San Francisco since the 1940s.

Acción Latina invites you to participate in Paseo Artistíco:“Count Me In/Cuenta Conmigo Census 2020” with a full day of free, interactive, bilingual local art activities for the entire family and community on Saturday August 10, 2019 from 12PM-8PM in the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District.

Learn how participating in Census 2020 benefits your family and your Mission District community with increased resources for health, jobs, education, housing and other social services.

Arts activities will address relevant topics surrounding the Census such as health needs, housing, language access, immigration, transportation and political representation to highlight the importance of your participation.

Local artists will create opportunities to get more informed and add your voice to our discussion about the Census through pop-up murals, local music performances, art classes, hip-hop cypher, collective songwriting workshops, multimedia journaling, art markets as well as a bilingual Census 2020 informative workshop.

    Heal your Latinx heart with a soothing art journaling session where you will create your self-portrait using accessible art materials. Learn how to use collage, water-based painting and drawing while enhancing your self-esteem and inner power.
