Event Details

Come to the Mission Community Market on Thursday, August 18 to see the dedication of “Amate Mission,” a new mural by Oakland-based artist Jet Martinez.

A part of the Market’s community revitalization effort, the mural is meant to celebrate the Mission District’s culture through the phrase “Amate Mission,” which loosely translates to “Love yourself, Mission,” and its use of the traditional Mexican painting technique “amate” with a Mission District flair.
