Accion Latina Presents: Paseo Artístico “Mission Pecha Kucha 2.” The celebration of visual arts in the Mission continues for the second year featuring live demonstrations of visual art.

*Pecha Kucha* (Japanese: ぺちゃくちゃ) is an arts presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20-30 seconds each. The format, which keeps arts presentations concise and fast-paced, powers multiple-speaker events called PechaKucha Nights. The Mission Pecha Kucha 2 will pay homage to the powerful legacy of visual arts in the Mission District of San Francisco, including its famous political murals and “Street” art style.

The event will feature and recognize visual artists who live and/or work in the Mission District as well as those artists whose work reflects solidarity and a strong sense of cultural heritage. Artists will present their work live in short demonstrations for an interactive audience at various venues on Calle 24/24th Street Corridor.

All Artists will answer 3 questions in 10 minutes while showing projected slides of work:

  • What are the main aesthetic elements of your work?
  • What are three main social-political concerns your work investigates?
  • How does your art reflect the influence of other Mission artists, or the influence of The Mission District Community as a whole?
