Event Details

Celebrate Poetry in Motion’s San Francisco debut! The Poetry Society of America partners with San Francisco Beautiful, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, and Supervisor London Breed to present Muni Art 2018, which has transformed 100 MUNI buses into galleriesfeaturing work by a diverse range of talented poets and artists. One of the most popular public literary programs in American history, Poetry in Motion® places poetry in the transit systems of cities throughout the country, helping to create a national readership for both emerging and established poets. Featured poets and artists will converge to share their work and discuss the joys and challenges of this public collaboration. Presenters include San Francisco Poet Laureate Kim Shuck, Juan Felipe Herrera, Charif Shanahan and Brynn Saito, and artists Donavon Brutus, Janet Rumsey, Mara Hernandez, Randi Pace, and Tsungwei Moo.
