On June 20, 2019, the UN will recognize World Refugee Day as a time to promote public awareness, responsibility, and support of refugees.

On Wednesday, June 19, 1951 Coffee Company invites you to learn about the plight of refugees, as they host Navigating a New Home: A Resettlement Experience at the Google Community Space in San Francisco from 4:30 pm – 7 pm.

Upon each guests arrival, they will be a refugee. They will be tasked with navigating a new and unfamiliar system in order to find an apartment, apply for benefits and get a job. This experience was developed by 1951 Coffee graduates and baristas, and has continued to grow, helping educate others about the challenges that refugees and asylees must maneuver when they resettle in the US. Refreshments will be served.

Free tickets for Funcheap readers. Otherwise tickets at $10.
