Ready to jump into the soothing and satisfying world of needle felting? In this beginner class, you’ll get started with needle felting and make a delicious looking jumbo sushi.
You’ll learn two methods:
Creating and manipulating shapes using only wool and felting needle.
The inside scoop on my techniques for creating larger forms and using wool fibers to mimic brush strokes to create depth, and dimension.
Walk away from the class with:
A delicious felted sushi to display and show off
Knowledge and understanding how to start your own projects
Materials, resources, and tools in a cute box to keep crafting at home!
All materials are included in a kit for you to take home to continue your crafty adventures.

ABOUT RISA
Risa Iwasaki Culbertson is a fiber artist, illustrator, and owner of Papa Llama; a playful stationery company based out of San Francisco. Biracial and born in Japan, she grew up creating art as a way to bridge the gap between her two worlds. Inspired by the healing and connective power of humor and play, she creates her wacky, whimsical, and colorful work as a way to process grief, deep emotions, and create a place of belonging.
Risa is constantly experimenting with a wide variety of mediums including paper art, felting, sculpting, illustration, stop-motion animation and more. Her artwork is all about being playful as a way to recharge the creative spirit and find ways to stay connected to those we love.
