New Growth 2014: Dance Performance & Youth Art Making | Root Division

Root Division presents New Growth 2014: City of Creativity, an exhibition of artwork made by students and instructors in our Youth Education Program. The opening reception is free and open to the public and takes place from 2-5 pm on May 10, 2014.

It will feature live performances by Cuicacalli Escuela de Danza and Little Opera. Throughout the afternoon, there will be free hands-on art activities for the whole family, as well as digitally drawn caricatures by Jon Casey of Bay Area Caricatures, and plenty of free healthy snacks & refreshments onsite.

The exhibition features creative endeavors in painting, sculpture, drawing, and mixed media made by elementary, middle, and high school students in their Youth Education Program accompanied by artwork from their artist-instructors. In addition, many of their artist studios will be open to the public. View the spaces as well as the completed and in-progress works by the 15 artists currently in their Studios Program.
