Event Details

Join us in celebration of Nowruz, the Persian New Year! Nowruz is celebrated by more than 300 million people each year in Iran, Afghanistan, throughout Central Asia, and the Kurdish regions of Iraq, Turkey and Syria. Discover the traditions of Nowruz, enjoy performances and learn the basics of Persian rhythms with Amir Etemadzadeh and Persian dancing with Natalie Nayun.

Meaning “new day”, Nowruz is a celebration of spring and new beginnings. Starting with the spring equinox, festivities last for two weeks, during which time people celebrate with dance, music, eating traditional foods, traveling and seeing relatives.

Pay-what-you-wish! Only 1 ticket needed per household and no one turned away for lack of funds. 50% of all proceeds and donations go directly to the artists.

Nowruz: A celebration of spring is pre-recorded and available for streaming March 21st – 28th
