Join us for this exciting session on Oakland graffiti/aerosol/mural artists. We will begin with a short film, by Pendarvis Harshaw, honoring the life and work of the great graffiti writer Mike “Dream” Francisco. We will then have a conversation with Pen about Dream and other Oakland artists such as Rachel Wolfe-Goldsmith.

This special event is presented by the Asia Pacific Peace Studies Institute at Holy Names University, and co-sponsored by the HNU Politics and History program, HNU Integrative Studies Across Cultures program, and the HNU School of Education.

Pendarvis Harshaw is the host of Rightnowish on KQED-FM, a columnist at KQED Arts, and the author of OG Told Me, a memoir about growing up in Oakland.
