Oakland’s “Mezcal & Mole” Comedy Night (Mondays & Tuesdays)

Get ready for the return of HellaFunny comedy night to Temescal with a series of pop-up live comedy shows at unique spots all across the bay.

This HellaFunny comedy show takes place at the just-opened Mesa Maguey, an upscale agave bar and Oaxcacan restaurant that’s a perfect date-night spot with lots of delicious plates around $20 and under.

It’s a 70+ minute show with 4-5 comics on the bill with credits like Cobbs, Punchline, SF Sketchfest, ABC and NBC.

ABOUT MESA MAGUEY

Mesa Maguey, a contemporary agave bar and Oaxacan kitchen, has recently taken over the former Copper Spoon space in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood. Known for its mezcal cocktails and happy hour specials, the restaurant offers a menu featuring dishes like mole, tacos, enchiladas, soups, and ceviche. This mezcalería offers a curated selection of small-batch mezcal, including exclusive imports from San Luis Amatlán in Oaxaca. Featured brands like Tres Tiempos, produced by a single family, and Amateco, which highlights even smaller batch producers, showcase the bar’s dedication to quality. Alongside these mezcal offerings, the restaurant serves a range of Oaxacan dishes such as mole, tacos, and ceviche, providing a well-rounded dining experience that complements its extensive drink menu. The knowledgeable bartenders add to the experience with their expertise in mezcal.
