SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2026
The 2026 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Hermán Olivera y Orquesta Taíno to kick off its 26th season. The Festival features over 100 free performances from May to November in Downtown San Francisco.
A musical tribute to the much-loved Khalil Shaheed, bandleader, jazz educator, and founder of the Oaktown Jazz Workshop, an after-school program for teens.
Shaheed’s group Mansa Musa, now under the direction of saxophonist Richard Howell, blends the traditional music of Mali with African-American jazz. The Oaktown Jazz Workshop Performance Ensemble joins in for an afternoon of exciting and challenging jazz classics.
