Event Details

On Level 1 at IAMA, the #tendergold Gallery presents a free exhibition of SF Bay Area emerging artist Richard-Jonathan Nelson.

The show presents a hallucinatory narrative told on an epic scale through digital images.

During the opening reception, you’ll also get free access to the upcoming exhibition by Bay-area based photographer Dan Lythcott-Haims called collected. You’ll get a sneak peek of the grand opening of the new exhibition hall on Level II, IAMA. Taking influence from the world of abstract expressionist painting, Lythcott-Haims’ work documents the patterns, textures, and forms of everyday life.

Artist’s Statement:

Richard-Jonathan Nelson is a multi-disciplinary artist who uses textiles, video, and digital manipulation to create alternative worlds of speculative identity. His work is multi-layered, chromatically intense and mixes images of the natural world with reference to hoodoo, queer culture, and Afro-Futurism.
