Event Details

Join Arion Press in a community gathering and reading to mark 15 years since the car bombing of Al Mutanabbi Street, Baghdad’s famed literary corridor. It is also the 15th anniversary of the Al Mutanabbi Street Starts Here project — a global movement of resistance, memory, and solidarity initiated by San Francisco poet and bookseller Beau Beausoleil.

An exhibition of photographic responses honoring Iraqi academics targeted and assassinated between 2003-2012 will join a display of letterpress broadsides and prints from a loose coalition of artist-activists.

Sunday, March 6th, 3-5pm, reading begins at 4pm.
