2026 UPDATE: Opera in the Park Has Been Cancelled
We write to share news that Opera in the Park on Sunday, September 13, has been cancelled.
While San Francisco Opera and the Opera Orchestra remain in negotiations towards a new contract, the Orchestra has not been able to commit to playing the opening weekend of the season. Opera in the Park is a major undertaking for the Opera and its partner organizations, and audience members attend this free event from all over the Bay Area. Without an advance commitment from the Orchestra that they will perform, we are sadly unable to proceed with Opera in the Park, and must cancel the concert this year to remove any uncertainty for those attending and producing the event.
Ring in the new season with Opera in the Park, a free outdoor concert celebrating San Francisco Opera’s upcoming season with an afternoon of live music in Golden Gate Park.

It’s time to start planning your picnic menu because Opera in the Park is back!
Music Director Eun Sun Kim leads the San Francisco Opera Orchestra in an afternoon of duets, arias, and more, performed by stars from San Francisco Opera’s 2026–27 Season.
Bring a picnic blanket or low-profile lawn chair and enjoy an afternoon of glorious opera under the sky at Robin Williams Meadow. Seating is first-come, first-served, so arrive early to claim your spot.
Event Details
Opera in the Park is free and open to all. The concert begins at 1:30pm and runs approximately two hours.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and free water refill stations will be available throughout the meadow. Bring your own refillable bottle or cup (no glass).
Getting There
Opera in the Park takes place at Robin Williams Meadow in Golden Gate Park. San Francisco Opera provides an event map with accessibility and parking information.
