Opera on Tap: Non-stuffy Opera Sung Live in a Bar | SF
Opera on Tap is a non-profit organization whose mission is to break down the stereo-type that opera is a stuffy or an elitist art form, by bringing it to bars.
Local singers let their hair down and bring you into what feels like an after hours back stage party, singing some of opera’s best known and little known pieces in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Come experience the extreme joys and pains of audition season (from both sides of the fence) with Opera On Tap San Francisco. Taking over the beloved Rite Spot again, they’ll be presenting intense arias from “auditionees” putting their best selves forward, however stable/unstable … and hearing the inside scoop on what the “auditors” have to say. Should be entertaining, to say the least – join them.
