Opera on Tap: Non-stuffy Opera Sung Live in a Bar | SF
Opera on Tap is a non-profit organization whose mission is to break down the stereo-type that opera is a stuffy or an elitist art form, by bringing it to bars.
Local singers let their hair down and bring you into what feels like an after hours back stage party, singing some of opera’s best known and little known pieces in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
Come celebrate friendship with Opera on Tap San Francisco. When it comes to opera we often think of romance or rivalry but this month they will explore the awesomeness of friendship.

Never been to the opera before? Not even sure what opera is? Their monthly events are great for new comers and opera fanatics alike. They present a scenes program full of arias, duets, and ensembles from several different operas. Some new, and some old. They have an MC who introduces each piece, and supertitles. Plus, it’s in a bar so – booze. Rite Spot’s kitchen is closed on Sundays so bring your own nibbles if you need them.
