Original Famous Twang Sundays is a free, all-ages concert series at Thee Parkside in Potrero Hill.
Come by every Sunday; there’s always a fresh traditional or contemporary live act and a surprise special to purchase from the kitchen.
Sunday, August 10th brings Secret Town and The Colonels Of Truth to the Original Famous Twang Sunday stage.
Secret Town delivers their own brand of original Americana/Rock/Folk music. Starting with a well worn steel-stringed guitar, singer-songwriter Daniel Seidel and vocalist Leslie Bailey weave melody and harmony into songs of superheroes and small towns, wagon trains, beauty queens, whiskey bottles and long goodbyes. Lead guitarist John Harris builds his own amps to deliver signature guitar tones while bassist Russell Kiel and drummer Steve Pearson combine talents to drive the Secret Town Sound.
The Colonels Of Truth, Rick Santos of the South Bay’s honky tonk heroes Longliner has joined with Peter Dominguez, David Sands & Robert Scott Mueller of San Francisco’s cow punk outfit GEN 11 in an attempt to strip everything away and return to their roots. Their debut EP ‘Songs of Love, Blood & Redemption’, set for a mid-September release, was recorded live at Fremont’s Real Job Recording. Now, with the session behind them, and the addition of timekeeper Bradford ‘Buford T. Justice’ Parker on snare & brushes, Colonels of Truth have strapped the guitar, dobro, mandolin, banjo & upright bass to the roof of the old Ford and are heading out to every legal (and not so legal) room that will have them.
