Grammy-winning Mads Tolling, one of the best violinists of his generation, pays tribute to his friend and mentor, jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty, performing compositions by Ponty in new arrangements.
France’s Jean-Luc Ponty has been at the forefront of jazz violin for decades. He single-handedly brought the electric violin and the European tradition of great jazz-violin playing to the United States. Tolling and Ponty remain in contact with a mutual goal: the evolution of the violin in modern music.
