RSVP Deadline: “Pancakes & Politics” November Ballot Talk | SF

Pancakes & Politics is an informal San Francisco community discussion of what’s next to every voting box on the November 4th ballot. It’ll be happening on Nov 2– but first, they must know– can you participate?

The deadline to RSVP is October 27, 2014. Don’t miss out.

The Politics Part
Each person attending is responsible to research one ballot initiative or one office, or . . . not.  They’d like to have folks as prepared as possible, so that the discussion can be that more thorough. Please RSVP with what initiative or office you’d like to interpret / mock / review / explore. Please research arguments on each side of the issue, or investigate who the candidates are and what they have to say (weird or humorous findings are encouraged)… then prepare a verbal 3-5 minute ‘summary’ to share (a little longer for those offices with multiple candidates).  After presenting both sides, tell us which way you’re leaning and why. The group then has 4-5 minutes to discusses the issue/office and present their views.

The Pancakes Part (w/ fixin’s)
P&P is also a brunch potluck.  Suggested items include pancake mix, eggs, biscuits, potatoes and fixin’s such as salsa, cheese, and syrup, complementary side dishes, juices, coffee and tea. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Please sign up to bring something, help us cook, or pitch in with cleaning after the event. If you can’t seem to help with any of that process, no monetary donation will be turned away… You can gift us part of the money that circulates around this city.

All the Issues, All the Brains
All of the issues and offices on the upcoming ballot will be discussed; they aim to generate light-hearted debates and helpful conclusions so that they all may vote smarter by the time November 4th rolls around. Pancakes & Politics is a chance to meet other locals who care about politics. P&P takes voting seriously, while also having a great deal of fun with it.
