About the Film: “Dial ‘M’ For Murder” (1954) An ex-tennis pro (Ray Milland) carries out an elaborate plan to have his wealthy philandering wife (Grace Kelly) killed by a former classmate (Anthony Dawson). But then the plot thickens, someone gets killed with a pair of scissors, and a former lover (Robert Cummings) steps in. Clever, intricate plot twists will keep you guessing til the end. Superbly directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

About The Paramount Theatre: Built in 1931, Oakland’s Paramount Theatre is one of the finest remaining examples of Art Deco design in the United States. After its initial brief blaze of “movie palace” glory in the 1930s, this remarkable auditorium suffered three decades of neglect and decline until its rescue by the Oakland Symphony, the City of Oakland and numerous private donors in 1972. A painstaking and authentic restoration was completed in 1973 and the theatre was entered in the National Register of Historic Places. Restored to its original splendor, meticulously maintained, and fully upgraded to modern technical standards, the Paramount is currently home of the Oakland East Bay Symphony and hosts a year-round schedule of popular music concerts, variety shows, theatre, and – of course – movies.
