Paseo Artístico presents Celebración Afro-Latinx at Mission District, SF from 12 noon to 6 pm.

12 pm at Brava Theater
Opening performance of son jarocho, fandango and the Afro-Mexican music of Veracruz

1 pm at 24th St and S. Van Ness, alongside the House of Brakes
Precita Eyes presents “La Rumba No Para: Tribute to DJ Chata Gutierrez” musical jam and presentation, with Miguel Govea and Community Music Center students, and muralist Carlos “Kookie” Gonzalez.

2 pm at Abode Books: Spoken-word with Afro-Mexican poet Jeremy Vasquez and Afro-Salvadoran poet Olivia Peñ

3 pm at Acción Latina: Azteca Negra and DJ Leydis present Afro-Mexican culture with Afro-Cuban beats and look at Afro-Latinx identity, headwraps and hair

4 pm at Dance Mission: Yismari Ramos and Denmis Bain, Afro-Cuban dance performance and Cuban timba salsa dance class
