Cinecittà, The Italian Cultural Institute and CinemaItaliaSF present an homage to iconic director Pier Paolo Pasolini, who pushed the boundaries of politics, art and sexuality. Five classic films will unspool September 10, the 100th anniversary of Pasolini’s birth, including Pasolini, Abel Ferrara’s biopic of the director, featuring Willem Dafoe; Accattone, Pasolini’s portrait of a hustler; Mamma Roma, starring the explosive Anna Magnani; Medea, featuring opera star Maria Callas; and Salò or the 120 days of Sodom, Pasolini’s controversial anti-fascist masterpiece.
