Artist reception Thur, Jan 4, 6-9pm, exhibition: month of January

For the month of January, Spark Arts is hosting Tom Martin, Dianne Hudson, and Francisco Martinez – residents of the Peter Claver Community.

“Patchwork” is an assemblage of varying artwork by residents of Catholic Charities Peter Claver Community. Each piece of art is stunning in its individualism while simultaneously connecting to and representing the whole of Peter Claver Community and its family-like setting. Art classes are taught by Stan Stone who welcomes and encourages first-time artists and those who’ve had an ongoing passion for the arts.

Catholic Charities Peter Claver Community is a comprehensive on-site residential care facility for chronically homeless individuals living with disabling HIV/AIDS. Opened in 1985, the program marked one of the earliest attempts by any organization to aggressively serve those sick and dying from HIV/AIDS.
