Pennsylvania Garden’s this darling of a community garden next to the Mariposa Street off ramp in Potrero Hill. Land was ceded by Caltrans and neighbors started planting, just to get some green into the asphalt jungle.
But they need help. This time they’re raising fund to fence the dog area so your pooch can roam freely and let the plants grow and thrive. So, come on down and buy some plants for your garden or enter the raffle for a plant prize. The last sale was a success. Now they got more stuff, such as:
• Pumpkins donated by Whole Foods!
• Over 500 cacti, succulents and other water-wise plants ideally suited to SF gardening!
• Native species, and those from the Mediterranean, Africa and Australia featured!
• Fresh, organic herb plants donated by Whole Foods!
• Organic beverages and a shady place to sit will also be available!
• A raffle will be held for fabulous prizes donated by Sloat Garden Center!
Walk through the garden and see many of the species of sale live, in action! Knowledgeable volunteers will be there to help you choose plants, and strong-backed young men will wheelbarrow them to your car (or home, if you live close by). Our prices cannot be beat, and your donation is hugely appreciated.
