With film the art medium of today, Coppola, Lucas, and Disney have created a Hollywood North in the Bay Area, Disney’s PIXAR being the gem. Surpassing Japanese anime, PIXAR created Nemo swimming over Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, a coral empire threatened by a warming Pacific; Wall-E who compacts waste on a tocis earth where no humans can live as they hover above in space ships; and a young Asian boy in “Up” who befriends an old Caucasian man and teaches him how to bond across generations and races.
