Presidio Bird Watching Day: Fort Scott | SF
Join natural resources staff Steve and Esperanza to find birds in the Fort Scott area of the Presdio.
The walk will be at a moderate pace through multiple habitat types. The walk will be catered to beginner and intermediate skill levels, but advanced birders are also welcome to join. We will try to spend enough time viewing each bird so that each participant will gain confidence in field bird identification, focusing on features – appearance, sound, habits, habitat– that differentiate the birds we encounter.
Free but RSVP required: nature@presidiotrust.gov
– Include name, # of participants, email, and whether or not you will need binoculars. (age minimum 10 years old)Please bring field guides, if you have them, a notebook and writing utensil, and optics – please also indicate in your RSVP whether you would like to borrow a pair of binoculars. The walk will include some light hiking, but will mostly take place on sidewalks. Heavy rain cancels.
