Event Details

Freedom fighters everywhere are invited to declare your independence from harassment and other unacceptable forms of violence at Enough Is Enough, a protest against street harassment happening in Oakland on July 4, 2014.

Meet in front of Rock Paper Scissors (23rd and Telegraph) and then they’ll determine the best location to set up shop. They won’t know the best spot until they assess crowds/foot traffic/etc. First Friday Art Murmur will be going on that day and they intend on attracting a pretty big crowd.

The protest message: “Street harassment makes us feel vulnerable when in public and we are sick of silently putting up with it. We are here to confront this issue, display our experiences, and encourage conversations.”

Please note, you are under no obligation to be topless, or bottomless. Some of them will chose nudity as a way to symbolize the message. It’s your body and your rules.
