Deap Vally debuted in 2011 with a primal mix of hard rock and greasy blues riffs, like the White Stripes colliding with the Black Keys. The female indie duo formed in Los Angeles after guitarist/howler Lindsey Troy took a crocheting class taught in a San Fernando shop by drummer Julie Edwards.

Their debut record, Sistrionix, took the rock music world by storm and saw them climbing to celebrity heights almost overnight. With their powerful, visceral feminist anthems about career, sex, and beauty, Deap Vally conquered the press, played massive festivals like Coachella and Reading, and gained a huge, loyal fanbase.
