Headlining is Sampson McMormick, a veteran who just opened for Paul Mooney. Irene Tu will be back for this show, plus Matt Gubser (a Pepperbelly’s alumnus, for all you Solano folk), Nina G., Justin Matson, Loren Kraut, and Iris Benson.
The organizers say: “If you have been reading the news, Pussy Riot continues to create, inspire and sustain protest in Putin’s Russia, despite the cutesy, phony Olympics P.R. whitewashing. This event will also be a fundraiser to support freedom of protest and speech in Russia, and we will have Masha Gessen’s recent book on Pussy Riot, Words Will Break Concrete, available for sale (courtesy of Laurel Books in Oakland) – with one copy as a door-prize.”
