Event Details

Near-Death Experience Story Night | SF

The International Association for Near-Death Studies-SF presents a free monthly lecture by different speakers, each of whom has had a near-death experience.

The purpose of the meetings is to inform the public about these experiences and to provide a comfortable, informal gathering place for people who’ve had them or who are interested in them and their implications for the study of human consciousness.

Although the meeting location is the Golden Gate Spiritualist Church, a historical mansion which now functions as a spiritualist church, IANDS-SF has no religious or political affiliations and rejects any form of dogma about the nature of near-death experiences.

Near-Death Experience Story Night | SF

Through quantum physics, western science is finding ways to understand the underlying realities that give rise to religions and mystical experiences.

Although an increasing number of medical doctors have gone on record to discuss their own near-death experiences, few “hard” scientists have done so for fear of suffering from ridicule by their peers, career discrimination or job loss. And in or out of the field of “hard” science, very few people combine the extraordinary life experience of September’s speaker Alan Hugenot, who is also the founder and director of IANDS-SF.

Hear Alan recount his fascinating and highly unusual perspective as a scientist in marine mechanical engineering, author, researcher and direct experiencer of life beyond death. As a young man, he barely survived horrendous injuries in a motorcycle accident. His resulting near-death experience gave him a direct knowledge that the limited version of reality described by Newtonian physics was flawed. From string theory to the hunt at the Hadron Collider for the Higgs-Boson (God) particle, from supersymmetry to dark matter and energy, hear Alan’s exciting summing-up of the latest research into the developments in quantum physics. These new “theories of everything” confirm a “conscious universe” in which time, space and death are all illusions.
