Event Details

Join them for a guided tour of the 20th Anniversary Exhibition of the Hormel LGBTQIA Center. They will start the tour in the Hormel Center on the Third Floor of the Library, learning about the beginnings of the campaign to build the first Center in a civic institution dedicated to the collection and preservation of LGBTQIA history and culture.

See the early designs of the Center, see who the early movers and shakers were, and learn about the famous ceiling mural. Then you will go downstairs to their Jewett Gallery and see highlights from the archives they have collected over the past twenty years, focusing on themes such as “Lesbian Literary Love”, “Activism”, “Visual Images”, and much more.

Tour will be led by Hormel center archivist Tim Wilson and Hormel center program manager Karen Sundheim.
