Quiet Lightning 5-Year Anniversary Artist reception

Literary performance series, Quiet Lightning, celebrates five years this December and they’re hosting an artist reception at The Emerald Tablet in North Beach for Quiet Lightning’s first full gallery exhibition, featuring eleven artists.

The exhibition will be on display at The Emerald Tablet through December—their five-year anniversary month—and January; most of the art will be for sale, along with artist back issues and select prints. There will be free snacks and drinks.

Also on this night we launch a year-long ekphrastic project: submissions will open for visual art, and Sidney and Laura will each choose their favorite piece; we will publish their favorites and open submissions of written responses over the course of the following three weeks, at which point we will publish our favorite written responses and open submissions to visual responses, repeating that process throughout 2015 and ending with another gallery show featuring all of the visual and written works.

Featured Artists: Todd T Brown, Cate White, Tanya Hollis, Nigel Sussman, Maga Rincon, Adam Carlin, Wesley Powell, Fuzz Grant, Luis Pinto, and QL’s two new art directors, Laura Ceron Melo and Sidney Stretz.
