Event Details

Rainbow University is a day of workshops and fun, hosted by the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County in downtown Concord from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2015.

Free, but an RSVP is required.

From art and spirituality to drag make up and estate planning, there is something for everyone at Rainbow U. Lunch will be served. Suggested donation of $5-15, no one turned away for lack of funds.

2015 Class Offerings

  • Introduction to Art Therapy – An overview of the current uses of art therapy and several hands on directives. No previous experience needed- really
  • Managing Your Money – Tips for saving money, retirement suggestions, and making a budget.
  • Unity Line Dancing – Line dancing is great way to meet new people and move more
  • SoulCollage (r) for the Queer Soul – SoulCollage (r) is a fun, intuative process of collaging your wisdom cards to mirror self and soul. In an environment of self empowerment and introspection we will create cards honoring our queer identites, though any cards that need to be made are welcome. All supplies included.
  • Learn to Read Tarot Cards – The Tarot is an incredible tool for personal growth and preparing yourself for the future. In this workshop, you will learn to use the cards to divine answers from within, and to predict what may be ahead. No experience needed- all decks will be provided.
  • Building Welcoming Congregations – Members of area diverse congregations who seek to help them become Welcoming and Affirming of LGBTQQI2-SAP members.  This is for congregations just beginning, and for those who have declared their welcome and want to go deeper.
